Christmas Fail

I've been seeing this one pop up lately, and it's really inexcusable.

Yes, the word 'Twas needs an apostrophe. But it needs it BEFORE the "t," as it replaces the "i" in "it." If the word were T'was, as it is written here on Amazon, then the full words would be Ti was rather than It was. It's really not that hard.

The best part about this one is the fact that it is wrong on the website, but right next to it, it is written correctly on the book cover.

Charles in Charge of our wins and our fails!

In this case, it is the fails we'll be looking at. Here is the back of the DVD box set of Season 2 of "Charles in Charge," courtesy of my good friend, Scott.

Let's go in for a closer look.

Ah, a classic fail. Here you can see that the family names of "Pembroke" and "Powell" have been pluralized incorrectly. You would think that someone at NBC Universal, TV Guide, or Arts Alliance America would know how to use correct grammar. You would be wrong.

Seriously, folks, say it with me: "We will never use an apostrophe to indicate a plural."
